The section of mountain road between Kurokawadaira and Shirabidaira is permanently closed to all private vehicles.
You can access Shirabidaira Station by transferring to the Route Bus or taxi.

By what time do I have to catch the bus and ropeway for a day trip to Senjojiki?
Please take the ropeway down at least one hour before the last Route Bus service.
Where do I transfer from expressway bus to Route Bus?
Get off the expressway bus at Komagane IC Bus Stop, and then take the Route Bus from Nyotai-Iriguchi Bus Stop.

When are the alpine flora the most beautiful?
The alpine flora at the Senjojiki Cirque are typically the most beautiful from mid July to late August, although the time can vary due to rainfall amounts during the rainy season.
When can I enjoy the peak of the fall foliage?
The peak of fall foliage is determined by the hours of sunshine and morning and evening temperature differences in each particular year. While the exact time varies from year to year, fall colors begin at the mountain tops in mid September, and in most years you can enjoy the fall colors until late November as they descend to the Senjojiki Cirque, the mountainsides as seen from the ropeway, Shirabidaira, the Route Bus route, and finally to Komagane Kogen and Suganodai.
When does the snow start falling?
The peaks begin to receive snow around mid-October at the earliest, but by December mid-winter conditions prevail.
Does the ropeway operate in the winter?
The ropeway operates year round. However, operations may be suspended due to severe weather.
Can I take my pet with me?
From the viewpoint of nature conservation, no pets are allowed on the bus to the Ropeway and in the Ropeway cabin.
